Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her debut EP Pho. It was here that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she continued to upload her music via the internet, including her self launched single Bound. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21 2015. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat is one of the songs she recorded with Cozz for the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II. On October 21, 2016 her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was then released in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. Then, on November 13, she released two additional singles titled No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. It then came out as a stand-alone single in February 2019, to coincide with the release of her debut album. The song, released with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than three million times over the first seven days. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on The From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
